Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer an assessment session?
Yes. All students begin by having an initial session with our founder, Dr Pantea Pooladvand, to assess their learning style, strengths and areas of focus. From there we build a tailored plan of approach, including choosing the right tutor, to ensure each student is getting the most value from their tutoring sessions. The assessment fee is $150.
Are online sessions as effective as in-person tutoring?
Yes! Our interactive online platform is especially designed for tutoring. It allows students to collaborate with tutors in real time, upload and share work and receive sessions in PDF. Students and tutors turn on their cameras so they can engage on-screen, and many students find it very convenient when they’re unable to come into the studio.
Do you offer tutoring for IB and HSC?
Absolutely. We specialise in all levels of HSC Mathematics (up to Extension 2) as well as IB Mathematics, both AA and AI.
We also offer group sessions and workshops in preparation for the HSC.
Do you provide support for other subjects?
Yes. Our tutors are immersed in STEM and science fields. We offer specialised one-on-one support in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These subjects are designed to complement school learning and build deep conceptual understanding.
How far in advance should I book for HSC group intensives?
These sessions are very popular and often fill quickly. Whilst you can join at any time of year, we recommend registering as early as possible to secure your spot.
Do you tutor primary school aged children?
Yes, we do. Your child can have tutoring for maths or science subjects at any age because we tailor our sessions to the student’s needs. We can discuss the details in our assessment session and tailor a plan that suits your child.
Can we book sessions during the school holidays?
Yes. Sessions can be arranged during holidays based on tutor availability. HSC sessions continue to run over the school break.
How do you chose the right tutor for each student?
Every student begins with a one-on-one assessment with our founder, Dr Pantea Pooladvand, who assesses their learning style, strengths and goals. From there, the student is matched with a tutor best-suited to their needs.
How often should my child attend tutoring?
Students attend weekly sessions which allows us to build strong routines, track progress, and prepare for upcoming assessments. Some students choose to increase frequency during busy times like exam periods.
Do you provide feedback on progress?
Yes. Tutors leave end-of-session comments that both students and parents can access. Additionally, we are always happy to discuss progress with parents in a dedicated meeting to update you on progress or address any concerns. We can also review school reports to help plan future sessions.
